With the new BMW Z4 just around the corner, it was still nice to see that has brought their previous design at the LA Auto Show. As you recall, the last BMW Z4 built at Spartanburg plant was celebrated back in August and it also represents the last Z4 built on US soil. The new generation E89 Z4 will be assembled at the Regensburg factory in Germany.
Of course, the Z4 wasn’t the main attraction in LA as everyone else expected the new roadster to make its world debut and also everyone was focusing their photo lenses on the new 7 Series or the highly-awaited Mini E. But to us, the true bimmer fans, the Z4 displayed there was the perfect opportunity to snap some photos of it since it might be the last time displayed at an auto show.

So long old friend.
I had one for 4 years….absolutely bullet-proof. Nothing ever went wrong with it. The 3.0si, imho, is the best all around model. Plenty grunt from the get-go (255hp) and smooth throughout the range of gears.
Introduced almost unchanged from Anders Warming original full-scale mock-up. It still turns heads today.
I’m seriously thinking of getting a used M roadster somewhere down the line. Imola Red!
STILL USE MINE EVERYDAY AS A DAILY DRIVER, AND WILL CONTINUE TO FOR MANY YEARS, MIGHT BUY A NEW ONE TO USE AS A WEEKEND DRIVER IN ANOTHER YEAR OR SO, BUT WILL CONTINUE TO USE MY 2005 AS MY COMMUTER
@Brookside: My buddy had a 2006 M Coupe Imola Red over Imola Red. That car was gorgeous. It’s still sitting at the BMW dealer he traded it in to. I shed a tear every time I see her. We had some great times in that car. The Z4 M Coupe and Roadster are two of the most underrated ///M cars of all time!!! I absolutely love them.
@mitchs_Z4: It’ll be a classic. The original Z4 will still be a great car in the future. This current Z4 is one of the few cars that has a design that I’m sad to see go. I will love the new one, but I’ll always love the original, and in some ways wish that it had never been changed.
