The X6 M will come with a V10 from the M5 plus they will add twin turbos. it will have about 580 Hp. I went to the BMW M school in south carolina and spoke to the M instructors. they are testing the car at the factory let me tell you it sounds like a rocket.

The v10's extra weight could probably be offset with liberal use of carbon fiber, esp up front. How much does the v10 actually add, 50-75 lbs? If you eliminated the front-wheel drive and dropped the engine down that would offset the effects of the V10 on weight and center of gravity.

@dmlgc: Of course, they will definitely need a different engine to differentiate the M from the xDrive50i, otherwise, like you said, they are in trouble. Beside the exterior improvements, I'm sure the X6M will bring much more to the table.

BMW needs to be careful not shoot themselves in the foot on this one, if they make an X6M version of the 50i no one will buy the 50i. If the top end (50i) of the X6 line starts to dwindle then the lower end (35i) will have to cost more and sales will suffer. BMW needs to think a lot more about introducing models and changes than they had to in the old economy.

Does the X6 Hybrid combine the 4.4 TT with electric power? Because that could substantially increase the performance, if that's how it was used.

I dont really se the point of it while the Xdrive50i has 400hp.What hp will the "M-X6" have? and what engine will it be ? the 4.4 V8 twin turbo ? the same engine like the Xdrive 50 but with a little more hp? ok so it will have around 500hp but who would buy the X 50i then? I dont see the point of it..Hope Bmw proves me wrong !
