As many of you might remember, just a month ago, the new BMW X1 concept was unveiled at the Paris Auto Show. While the production car is still a few months out, the prototype had a media preview in Paris.
No other information have been revealed since then and all we know so far is this:
Engine
The BMW X1 will be available with four and six cylinder engines both diesel and petrol, but expect to see the four cylinder turbo petrol in there too.
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline – 170-horsepower
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel – 177-horsepower
- 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine – 265-horsepower
- 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel – 245-horsepower
Drivetrain
The BMW X1 will be available in four wheel drive, but also as a rear wheel drive. With the initial launch in the European market only, the four-wheel drive will be the only option offered.
Despite the official photos release, many camoed prototypes can still be seen around Munich or even at Nurburgring. The two minutes video below gives you an idea of X1’s handling and performance on a track.
