I have seen in the past some computer generated images of what the next generation BMW 5 Series might look like and while some of them seemed okay, acceptable, others were painful ugly. The Swedish magazine, teknikensvard.se has some new renderings of what they believe the 2010-2011 BMW 5 Series might turn out to be.
While the front shot looks acceptable, the rear and side angles are absolutely awful. It looks like a shrunk 2009 BMW 7 Series with absolutely no 5er personality or sportiness. I usually don’t post awful CGIs, but I had to this time, hoping to get a reaction from you.

Is that the new nissan altima?
The rear three-quarter view looks like the current Infiniti sedans. Same for the side view if you cover the nose.
@Clara: Pretty much, the rear is terrible on the first link. But even the latest renderings are truly ugly. Giom is really talented, I would love to have him do a rendering for us.

This reminds me of some sort of Japanese anime in which the cars can talk…or something. Either way – the title says it all, it’s bad.

If that is the new 5 series, then i don’t see any difference or improvement over the current 5……. in my opinion the 5 series is not too nice looking to begin with, i loved the old 5-series, now that was a HOT car.

Honestly I drive an e60 M5 and I think this looks acceptable for a first attempt.
