Even with higher gas prices, we still buy sport utes, but we want them to be smaller and more fuel efficient. I went from a Jeep Grand Cherokee to an X3 and would never look back. I love that I can have a car to haul my "junk" and my dog with a BMW badge on the butt of it. I cannot do everything I need to in life in a 3 series. I do question though, how many times can they cut this segment. X1, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7? Will the X1 "coupe" be an X-Drive0.5? The US cannot get enough of SUV/SAV’s. It's grown in size and weight, yes, but they aren't building some sort of 911/SUV monstrosity off of it. And don't say the Cayenne because that's just a rebadged Touareg - not platformed off of another Porsche design. @dmlgc:

Now, it all depends on the economy, of course, so we'll see if it's delayed or not.
