Back in 2007, the fellows at Autoblog.nl, decided to put the new BMW M3 E92 Coupe through an intensive test drive. Of course, the famous german autobahn could not have been missing from their review, and the video of the M3, flying between the other cars on the autobahn, will leave you speechless.
Even to this day, I’m really amazed how well the M3’s engine sounds, that reving just gets me excited.

Pretty good- I dont really dig the new M3 (yes, I am an e46M3 owner) but this is a good video.
The reason I do not like this car is primarily for looks and weight reasons. I dont mind so much the V8, although I do acknowledge it takes away from what the M3 stands for. Still though, it is a sweeeeet engine.
Still though, the best of the new generation BMWs, along with the 135i
Hi,
why not watch the high-quality version of the video? – http://www.abhd.nl/video/bmw-m3/
they have got a few more cool videos of sportscars, among others they also have a video of the BMW 135i: http://www.abhd.nl/video/bmw-135i-coupe/
@Volan:
to be honest I find it a bit weird when people say that the V8 takes away from what the M3 stands for , the first gen M3 was a 4 pot and then it moved to 6 pots now it has a V8 thats called evolution especially since they made the V8 lighter the previous I6 and its still a high revving engine. I can agree with you on the weight though.
@adood84:
The M3 stands for a high-tuned “take the most performance that you can out of” a street engine, a balance between practicality and high-performance. That was the case with the e30-e46, with the e46 losing some of its aspect by starting to become a heavy GT.
The V8 really belongs to an american type muscle car or a larger saloon, such as the M5- thats all. Again though, I personally do not mind the engine a bit-besides being a gas guzzler, but then again one shouldn’t be buying an M3 to save on gas.
Its weight and hefty price are the biggest enemies of the new M3. The looks are too for anyone who never liked the “bangled” designs, but thats just a matter of personal preference anyways.
