With the new BMW X6, xDrive50i, recently released, we were expecting to see more reviews of the higher-end Sports Activity Coupe model (ours will be coming up as well). Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, so we were a little surprised when we saw a video review made by the guys at Roadfly.com.
At a base price of $61,000 and with lots of options added, passing the 80k mark, the xDrive50i is obviously a little too expensive, even for the die hard BMW fans. Regardless the high price, most of the U.S dealerships are actually sold out and it is pretty hard to find the V8 twin-turbo sitting in their lots. One reason: an increase in the car export business, especially to the countries in Eastern Europe. But we’ll come back with a story on that shortly.
In the mean time, let’s enjoy the good review made by the Roadfly folks.

Did Munich pay him for this review? Not even once did we witness the car’s handling or superb V8 twin turbo engine! What a disappointment!
@George: Yeah, you might see that from us soon. We’re working on a review that will focus mostly on how the car drives and that engine sound coming from the V8
Looking forward to it Horatiu!Thanks!
Videos of the X6 are just about all we in the US are going to get. Don’t waste time on this vehicle. BMW is sending virtually every one of them to Europe. That’s their right but I think they ought to be honest and tell us this. I placed my X6 order in early May. My dealer is still waiting and is unable to give me any idea when my X6 will come in.
I I were BMW I would ship all of them to Europe if I could
In Europe they cost almost twice as much as in the US when you add all the options because of the weak dollar. And BMW are so mean that they charge extra for leather, the wood or aluminum trim and metallic paint which are standard in the US base model! In Europe the base price of the 35i is 66500 euros which is equal to 85000 dollars !! I know that the American market is important to BMW but it is not fair to Europeans who have to pay much more than Americans and is is not fai to the Americans who have to wait even longer for a car that is being built in their own country!
