Some of you might remember the BMW leaked document in which the new X6 xDrive50i was being compared to the Porsche Cayenne GTS. At that time, many people believed that since it was a BMW leaked document, the numbers might not be as accurate as they want us to believe.
I inclined to believe these allegations, but in the same time, I knew that the leaked document was an internal memo that had no marketing purposes. A few months later, the fellow car lovers at AutoBild had the opportunity to put the BMW X6 xDrive50i head-to-head with the Porsche Cayenne GTS.
Before we show you their final results, let’s start with the ones from the BMW’s memo
| BMW X6 xDrive50i | Porsche Cayenne GTS | Range Rover Sport V8 – Supercharged | |
| Engine | V8 | V8 | V8 |
| Capacity | 4395 | 4806 | 4197 |
| Horsepower | 407 | 405 | 390 |
| 0-60 MPH | 5.4 sec | 6.1 sec | 7.6 sec |
| Speed | 155 MPH | 157 MPH | 140 MPH |
| Fuel Consumption | 18.17 MPG | 15.54 MPG | 14.76 MPG |
| CO2 Emission | 299 g/km | 361 g/km | 374 g/km |
| Dimmensions | 192.15/76.35/66.58 in | 189.04/75.96/66.94 in | 188.50/78.07/71.33 in |
| Weight | 4983 lbs | 5060 lbs | 5786 lbs |
So, 0-100km/h, 5.4 for the X6 and 6.1 for the Cayenne GTS.
Now, let’s see what the AutoBild folks have to say:
Nürburgring-Nordschleife times:
1. 8.54,4 min (max. 240,9 km/h) – X6 (automatic)
2. 9.01,9 min (max. 228,1 km/h) – Cayenne GTS (manual)
Weight:
1. 2378 kg – X6
2. 2410 kg – Cayenne GTS
Acceleration 0-100 km/h:
1. 5,7 s – X6
2. 6,7 s – Cayenne GTS
GPS-topspeed:
1. 263 km/h – Cayenne GTS
2. 252 km/h – X6 (limited)
Braking 100-0 km/h (warm):
1. 37,4 m – Cayenne GTS
2. 37,7 m – X6
Basic price:
1. 73 800 € – X6
2. 78 034 € – Cayenne GTS
Besides being faster from 0-100km/h, the BMW X6 xDrive50i was 7 seconds faster on the Nurburgring lap as well.
With a lower price, better fuel consumption and free 4-year maintenance, the X6 is a better buy. Sorry guys, as much as I like Porsche, the X6 takes the win this time.

Who said the Porsche was any good?
This whole test is a joke…it’s akin to a bunch of lard-ass obese people running the hurdles…and we’re all dumb enough to sit and watch.
What a waste of resources.

Viva la BMW!
It surprises me that no one commented on the fact that a naturally aspirated 4.8 V8 (Cayenne GTS) is being compared to the 5.0 twin turbo (X6)!!!! The X6 is in the league of the Cayenne Turbo. Suggest they repeat those tests….and revert back!!! As for looks, this is a matter of taste…I love the GTS looks! And them X6 drives can wish they own one….
Now did we compare resale values??
Fred911 you are the man!!!
LOL people who can’t offer prosche will say anything about it ;p first of all prosche has its quality unlike the x6 lol its just like a rubish japanes car from insid,,, plus the shape of the car,, there is no compare at all
also what mean x6 and is a joke a 4 years free LOL? even a honda civic are not doing that -.-
x6 is for poor people who just want to show off of some speed as they can’t offer a real laxury cars.
Cheers.
To be honest, I can not decide which is actually uglier. If you want a high-performance SUV/SAV get the new X5 M with some Hartge wheels. Give me a ride then when you get it.
