As a BMW owner I can say yes I do care what gas costs. Especially since Diesel is being sold for more than Premium? Isn't the point of a diesel to give you more MPG and actually save the consumer money on the cost of gas in the long run?

I agree with Mark. Especially not placing a pricing premium on the Diesel.

Maybe they are worried that with diesel being at nearly $5/gallon, sales will not be worth it.....I have always felt that unless a 335D or any other BMW diesel gets substantially BETTER mileage than its gas using equivalent, then why bother with a diesel??

Considering the price restructuring and the negligible fuel efficiency gains of the 335d as compared to the 335i there is no reason for BMW to bring over the 335d at this time. They'd be much better suited to bring over the 323d, 320d, 123d the 118d, and some of their other magnificent diesels in response to the current increase in vehicle cost as well as fuel costs. Maybe the US will finally be the beneficiary of the full line of BMWs. They are poised like no other luxury manufacturer to take advantage of the current market conditions. Maybe then I'll be able to procure my beloved Alpina D3!
