First video of the BMW CS Concept driving

Do you guys remember the BMW CS Concept? The bimmer concept that created so much hype around it and everyone assumes that all the future BMW models will import design elements from it. Yeah, that’s us also, even though, for example, the 7 Series was one car that did not import elements from the CS and it was actually vice-versa.

Anyway, back in March when the CS Concept was unveiled at the New York Auto Show, many official photos were released, but…no videos of the car being actual driven.

Well, let’s change that, today we came across an Youtube video showing the BMW CS on Villa d’Erba contest 2008. I’m a little pissed that the whoever shot the video managed to screw it by playing with the colors, but hey…beggars can’t be choosers, right?

Hmmmm…..are they trying to create some nostalgic look at the past with the antique looking video and music???

Fantastic, by far the best BMW design since the E46 M3. Love this car, and it grows on me everytime I see it!

Hate the stupid music, you can’t hear the engine.
BMW never told what engine the CS has. When I listen very good, I hear a … diesel!

This is really much nicer than the new 7-series design, and the same size. Why didn’t they just use this CS design?

I’m also not sure I agree with the assertion that tne CS derives from the new 7… if anything, I’d say that the 1, 3, and new 7 derive from the original Z4, and the CS is in turn an evolution of that Z4 design concept.

@Clara: Clara, they couldn’t use the CS design since the production and the design phase of the new 7, took place before the CS.
And yes, the CS imported elements from the 7 and not the other way around, it has been confirmed many times by BMW engineers and I actually found that directly from someone working there.
Now, I do agree that the future models might get CS elements, so we’ll see how they turn out. The Z4 will be a beautiful car.
