The rumored BMW X6 //M version was spotted by our Australian fellows at CarAdvice.com.au. Just a couple of days ago, we announced that BMW has registered the X6 M trademark, which was clear sign that the sport version of the X6 is in works already.

Of course, typical BMW, the X6 M has not been officially confirmed, but judging from the spy photos, it is clear that we are dealing here with the Motorsport model. The clues? The typical M dual-exhaust and especially the more obvious side vents.

Rumors have it the the BMW X6M will be powered by a 5.0-litre V10 with 373kW and 520Nm of torque, even though we believe that a twin-turbo engine will be more suitable for the job. The 4.4 V8 Twin-Turbo can be the ideal choice. The car already weighs around 5,000 lbs and placing a heavy V10 engine in it, would not make much sense.

Time will tell again and at this point, everyone can only speculate.

    The twin turbo V8 is already in the 50i. Plus, M models have always had naturally aspirated engines. In the end, though, I hope they don’t do it. There don’t need to be M versions of the SAVs.

    @Dustin: The X5 M and X6 M will most likely be powered by an M-tuned V8 twin-turbo engines
