I noticed the NA press release says that ALL 3-series get hydraulic steering. Then Active Steering is an option on top of that.

So, in the US, we don't get the electric steering booster that is one of the "EfficientDynamics" features on Euro 3-series?

@bsd107: No news on that, but our guess is within a month. A lot of people are asking about them since they would like to place new orders for '09 models.

The European Delivery webpage on bmwusa.com says all 2009 models (except the X3) with the iDrive option will receive European maps preloaded prior to pick-up. Preloaded means it must be a harddrive which indicates even the 2009 coupes and convertibles will get the new iDrive system.

The facelift of Coupé and Cabrio is usually around a year after the facelift of sedan and touring. But maybe BMW implements the new I-Drive for the 2009-modelyear. They did exactly the same in the 1-series and the X5 / X6, although there was no facelift on these cars.

Anybody knows if the coupe will be getting the new iDrive system ? or will they just wait for the couple facelift to change it ? also when is the expected facelift for the coupe? I'm considering buying one in the next 12-18 months to replace my 318ci vert , so I could hold out for a facelift if its only 2 years away or so
