This latest set of spy shots are the most revealing yet of the upcoming X1. As we mentioned before, the BMW X1 will be available in four wheel drive, but also as a rear wheel drive. Also the four and six cylinder engines will be available in both diesel and petrol, but expect to see the four cylinder turbo petrol in there too.
It will be launched in Europe first and the base price will be placed below the 3 Series models, but initially BMW stated that the X1 will be marketed mainly towards the European market and no announcement was made regarding an U.S version. Now, take a closer look at this interior photo:
What do you see in there? The speedometer has MPG markings specific to the U.S market and now, take a look at the second interior photo:
No clutch, right? So, this test mule is definitely equiped with an automatic transmission.
According to our friends at MotorAuthority, most likely the X1 will import elements from the CS concept car, such as an enlarged grille, wrap around headlights and an aggressive bumper. Production is expected to be around 100,000 units and will start at a BMW plant in Leipzig by the middle of next year. The X1 will be priced higher than the 1-series, but below the 3 Series.

I´m not expecting too mutch from X1. It´s looks like a 3 Series Wagon.
It also may be a US-spec since it only has a button for the front foglights and no button for the rear foglights.
it is too low
@bastula: Good point!! I didn’t see that one.
