I want to be in the list right behind Solar John. We have owned a Honda Civic GX (dedicated CNG--the ACEEE cleanest/greenest car on the road in the US for 5 straight years) since December 1998. We wanted an EV, but none were available at the time. Though we are very happy with our clean Civic GX, it is still not totally zero emission like the EV Mini would be. Since taking part in the the GM Impact PrEView drive program, I have wanted an EV. My wife and I would love to be part of a beta testing program. My middle school Computer Applications students have been required for the past decade to research Alternative Fuels for vehicles with gas/electric hybrids as their primary focus, though EVs have always been the ultimate goal of my curriculum. Charging from a home PV array is the perfect way to achieve distributed electric generation and to greatly minimize electric generation as a contributer to emissions and global warming.

Yes, we want one!

Hey BMW,
I double-dog-dare you to sell or lease me an electric mini. Unlike Southern California, we have a wide range of weather extremes and road conditions. And with my 62 mile rt work commute, I would be an excellent choice as a beta tester for the car. I'm also into solar, and I would charge it as much as possible with my off-grid system. I write about my experiences on my blog, and I accept no money from the auto or oil industries. My reporting is unbiased and fair. Let's get serious about cutting our dependence on oil.
