The BMW 335d has been spotted again in Germany. Our friend Adit pointed out a few interesting things and put together an amazing short analysis.
This is an US spec model because of the front reflector. It probably is also a 335d since there is the urea replacement port on the rear left portion of the body.
The new iDrive is more than likely present in this car because:
– 2nd optical drive is missing and the track buttons have been moved under the 6FL buttons.
– The 2 customizable buttons have been removed from the steering wheel and is the same as the non-iDrive counterpart.
Confirmation of US model again since it says FM/AM and Mode instead of 7 and 8 for 6FL. Additionally, the speedometer is in MPH and there is only a front fog light button, again only in the US.
Finally, the signals in the back look red and not amber tinged as in the rest of the world.
Back in April, BMW announced that the BMW 335d and the X5d will be coming to the States in October '08, but a recent rumor going around says that the BMW diesel engines launch in the U.S will be delayed.

I assumed E90 LCI would have a “joystick-like” gear lever like X5, X6 and E60 LCI. But I’m happy it kept the old-school style there — or maybe it’s only for the US market, and EU market would get the joystick?
Maybe if the goofs at Schneider were not so adamant about showing their copyright, we could get a little better idea as to what the car looks like
Cheers,
Yeah, man. Schneider is lame.
Thank god they’re not changing the shifter. That plastic joystick piece of *$#@ would really make it hard for me to buy one.
Does this car have the BMW Individual Sound System – i.e. the top of the line one? We only get the Logic 7 upgrade available in the US. Maybe it’s just Logic 7, but that door speaker looks like it might be from the “Individual” system. I would LOVE to have that available in US 3-series, but it’s not on the 2009 ordering guides….. (In fact, we kind of got a downgrade, as the Logic 7 is not standard anymore on the 335i)
@bsd107: That is truly a shame that Logic 7 is not standard anymore. I have it in my 335i and I can tell the difference between the standard one and the pro one.
