I kept up with that thread, too. Flow had good reason to ask him not to return; he used off-color remarks to describe their salesmanship. However, the way they did it, in direct 3-on-1 confrontation, and the paranoid way they kept records and tracked him down was incredibly bad judgement.

Of course, the thread went wild with Nazi and SS references, as many people already had pent-up frustration with BMW's pricing and attitudes of salespeople.

Dan Flow's long response explains their postition quite well, but it doesn't explain why they couldn't make this clear up front.

I followed this thread for a few days and was stunned to hear of the KGB/Stassi style tactics used by the dealership....if this had happened to me, I would have called the BBB as well as our Texas State Attorney General's customer complaint line....not to mention the local news affiliates!!!

I am delighted to learn that none other than the owner of the dealership took a stand and issued a public apology...in a very large public arena. I guess that this shows that there are still ethical and caring owners...then again, perhaps we truly saw the result of the true and terrifying (well, at least to some dealerships) power of the internet??

Either way, three cheers for Flow BMW for doing the right thing!!

Cheers,
