I have always said that the BMW fans are quite different and 100% passionate about their cars and the whole BMW culture. They seem to be impulsive at time and absolutely defending the german brand against anyone that dares to try to put down their lovely bimmers.
This time, a man in Germany went all the way, but the opposite one. In a protest against the all-time high gas prices, he torched his 1995 BMW 3-series sedan onto the lawn outside Frankfurt's convention center grounds. He accomplished that by pouring a canister of gas on the car and simply set in fire. Needless to say, by the time the Fire Department arrived, the classy E39 3 Series was completey destroyed.
The reason for this "show": high gas prices which reached an amazing $9.40 per gallon in the Bavarian land. No charges have been pressed as of now.
I'm wondering if he'll file an insurance claim

TOTAL IDIOT….as if it is BMW’s fault gas is so high…why does he not thank his ultra socialist government with their astronomical taxes for the high prices???
Cheers,
He does not blaim BMW but only the government! There was a website written on the car and he tells his protest against the high taxes on this website. This action has nothing to do with BMW, it would have been a burning VW / Audi / Honda / whatever if he had driven such a car.
by the way it is an E36, not an E39
Well I’m italian and the gas price here is the near 9.40 per gallon… and I drive a 1991 e34 520i, that makes 25litres/100km as medium consumption, so I should burn my car not him…
How are you driving? Any working BMW Inline-6 should consume not more than 15 l/100km! And for 15 l/100km you have to drive like… I don’t wanna know
I mean, okay, in Italy you have a lot of hills and if you drive fast it takes gas, for sure, but that much? I think there is something wrong with your car…
Um, the 6 in e36 is upside-down in your post.
Wow, the German government is really crazy…
I guess they need to tax their people to keep all the turks on welfare.
