According to the German car-magazine AutoBild the next BMW X3, codenamed F25 and built in Spartanburg, will be eight centimeters longer than the current model resulting in a total length of 4.65 meters. The car will be 1.85 meters wide and 1.68 meters tall.
With a wheelbase of 2.88 meters, they guess the car will have a larger rear overhang than the current model and offer some more space in the back seats as well.
The engine-lineup will start with the 2-liter-diesel outputting 177 horsepower and end-up with the well-known engine from the 135i/335i/535i, the award winning 3.0-liter twin-turbo. Of course these numbers are for Europe and I don't expect the 2-liter-diesel to come to the US. The car will take advantage of all the EfficientDynamics-technologies and according to AutoBild even a two-mode-hybrid-version is planned.
The X3 will also feature a lot of options that are not available for the current X3, for example the Head Up Display, Night-Vision or a hard-drive for music and navigation (like expected for the new 7-series). Like the current model the new X3 will only be offered with X-Drive, so there won't be a rear-wheel-drive-version like Mercedes plans for it's GLK.

My eyes! It’s hideous!
I like the front, looks powerful and agressive…
The rear and sideline, well… There is room for improvements I guess
Well, it looks clean and crisp…at least moving away from the gum drop look of today’s car. But those wheel wells…better get the optional 19’s!
