I couldn't read the badge entirely so I don't know if it was a diesel or not. I saw it in traffic right in front of the ad agency that does BMW USA advertising so this leads me to believe that the car is coming to the states. They wouldn't have one unless they we preparing a marketing campaign for it. I just saw a 1 series hatchback here in Austin, Texas.
