One of our readers has just sent in a picture of what it looks to be a BMW M1 Prototype. Honestly, we cannot swear by it and it is really hard to tell if it's a photoshop or not, but if there are any design experts out there, please, feel free to jump in and tell us what you think.
The picture was taken by the guys at Freshtarmac.com, somewhere in Spain. The prototype has definitely imported some design elements from the current M3.
The release of this photo along with the BMW M1 Hommage that was unveiled a few days ago, it makes me wonder if BMW is really working on a new BMW M1. Would it make sense for them to revive the M1? Absolutely. Will they go ahead and actually build it? Hmm, not sure at this point, but hopefully we will have something soon for you
Thanks for the tip Daniel!

Extreme photoshop I’d say. I analyzed the picture, and it’s a really good pshop. But, it looks fantastic, none the less. BMW could and should build it…
yeah, I agree, that’s a photoshop. They’ve never shared that much with another model and all of the detailing is M3, just distorted. Pretty good job, and it does look nice, but it’s not real.
It is a photoshop work,no doubt.
Even if it IS a photoshop image, it is still something to DROOL over and wish for an extra few gazillion dollars in the old pocket as to put a deposit on..or encourage BMW AG to build one…..
Cheers,
I agree, I thought the same thing. The guy is talented though
We should hire him

Its photoshop. If you zoom in really close on the picture, you can see that he used a mouse to clone or match the color in some of the areas of the car. But yes, this person has got some serious talent to pull off something like this.
It is a photoshop. It uses Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Head lamp (if you can see the LED is at the same place), Audi R8 top (if you can see the petrol cap thingy at the back of the side window.) and BMW M3 body. (The side marker at the front is same and the bodykit and the side, everything. even the back) The rims i’m not sure but it looks like a BMW wheel. haha

Ok every one knows its fake now but whats the difference i would rather talk about the idea of this car since it is a concept one way or another. it has 1 percent chance of being made but i would lose some things to make it more realistic
1. The hood line from the headlight to pillar i would make straight
2. lose the r8 cap since BMW would neever put that on one of there models
ok so what would this car be since its long front can support an engine and its rear also can support one as well
my version would be a v12 rear wheel drive car
this way the back should stay the lenght it is for the balance of the car because it would be too powerful to be a hackback like the vw golf w12 is an example of
its big back can be used to support rear sits which supercars are missing they wouldn’t be able to be too big but would be there maybe fits two midgets or one normal sized people
they the scopes in the back can be redircted under the car to help keep it on the ground cuz it doesn’t have a wing
