Today it seems to be the day of BMW concept designs. Just a few minutes ago, we have posted an article on the BMW M1 Hommage, a prototype that pays tribute to the original M1. Now, we are ready to show you the BMW M-Zero concept, a design by Maël Oberkampf. This is an independent project and Maël is not affiliated with BMW, just so we clear all the speculations from the beginning.
The direction the designer was going with this design was towards the Audi’s R8, but the car has a lot of elements borrowed from the Aston Martin DB9, Mercedes-Benz and even the BMW 6 Series.
What it came out is a futuristic design that combines the luxury with the sportiness in a car.
Don’t hold your breath on hoping to see a similar car in production, but as Mr. Oberkampf showed us, sky is the limit.

All the angles look pretty good. I don’t like the side profile, especially the first 1/3 of the car. From that angle, it reminds me of a Hyundai Tiburon.
man,BMW should be sued if they ever take this design into production!!!!!!
just hurry up and copy the 911 body already… it’s so obvious they want to build a 911 and stick a BMW badge on it… such inferiority complex. BMW Z4 is so ugly. pardon me, but it is a chick car and so is the latest M 0. Zero is for style.
No it looks nothing like a 911 dude. What would they gain from a 911 body? the 911 isn’t even that pretty.

well speaking as a bmw fan Id say overall the car looks great, but if bmw really wants to take the competition by the rear they should work on their rear end styling…..(Africa, Namibia )
I absolutly like the M-0 of BMW, and deffinetlly agree with Jonathan that BMW AG need to really work on the rear of this body – no common features of BMW there.
This is going to be the look of the 09 Z4 i think…if you look at the spy shots, especially of the front, they look very similar….maybe a Z4M/M0 is down the track!!
i love bmws and my dad has 3 and they all are awsome but this concept does not have the traditional look of any bmw and the back of the car is so plain and squared , the front is also way to plain it just has two little circles for its headlights , i dont like it BLAH
Seems as though A LOT of people missed the point that BMW didn’t design this concept…
I like the design quite a bit. The guy really needs to stick with still pictures, though. That video was horrid. There are only so many times you can use the “start out blurred and slowly come into focus” transition in one sitting without irritating me.

BMW has absolutely nothing to do with this!!! i was shocked why i never heard of this before… and its cuz its an independent project that just has a BMW logo on it.
its like if i took my cavalier and glued a BMW logo to it and called it a low cost low performance concept called the BMW M-crapo. (nothing against cavaliers, i love mine, but were talking about 2 completely different worlds of cars)
im glad BMW is not affiliated with it cuz i dont like it, and the rear end is just downright ugly. theres not enough roof, and the shoulder line is too high for where the roof is. and the back end is too flat. needs a little trunk lid overhang or something…

This is not a BMW concept. Its some art students project. BMW does not want to clone the 911, if they did they’d do a rear engined car. Yes the Z4 is a chick car, so is the 911 with an automatic transmission, hell any coupe/convertible with an automatic is. Get over it.

Another gross design by BMW…although this almost, ALMOST makes the X6 look, uh…um…..hmmmm……um…..”ok”. But not quite.
oh, and this looks like another car that would get me on a first name basis with the BMW shop crew again since I would be there A LOT.
let’s see… how does the rear of this car look again? oh, yeah… i’ll have to wait until i get next to one in traffic… then gaze in my rearview mirror. Chick car if there ever was one…. BMW needs to get off the fence- either build a real track car or keep adding more HP to the Camry Body styles… just make a decision BMW.

To be fair: the car has style but weak points are the front grill and back exhaust. Close the grille so it doesn’t look like the feminine z4 and change the exhaust to look more like the 911S… the hips of the car are good and overall it is nice looking. But the grill in front is too feminine.
NeverAgainBMW- if you would grow up and read the article, or just the first paragraph like an adult would before they criticize something, you would have seen that BMW has absolutely nothing to do with this at all. It’s a concept by some designer.
And the X6 is one of the sexiest and unique designs ever produced. If everyone else thought it was ugly, it wouldn’t have sold out every last of the 40,000 units built to the showrooms of 2008.

who gives a ……what it looks like its a car i drive it around all the time but i gave it a chrome blue paint job and dark blue window and some chrome blue rims
rear light is not beautifull.

the front looks alright, but the back is ugly.. could be a nissan 350z or some toyota from the back. im happy, this is just a concept. but bmw has the know-how to build a car in competition to 911

Well, some one putted much effort to create it, but unfortunately it does not bring anything new to the BWM cars I have seen better independent projects. I don’t like this one and I wish BMW will never make the similar car.
