As I have promised many times before, BMW Blog is here to bring you the latest exclusive news from Munich. Last week, we had some breaking news on the 4 Cylinder twin-turbo and especially, the 2009 BMW Z4 with the optional soft or hardtop.
Our friends at Autoblog, Jalopnik, Autospies and many other large car blogs have been supportive and they helped us share the news with all the car lovers out there. For that, I would like to thank everyone that linked to our articles.
Yesterday, I was reading an article on the upcoming 2009 BMW 7 Series, which apparently will be featuring an 8 Speed transmission. Even though it's not really latest news, many car blogs have reported that last year, it was still a nice reminder for all the bimmer fans out there.
Today, I have something even better for you. The same 2009 BMW 7 Series will have four wheel steering as optional extra. Now that's something to be excited about that.
Next, let's focus a bit on the 3 Series facelift that will probably be released by the end of this year. Here are some of the things we have learned about the facelifted 3er's.
Let's move next to the BMW X5 M, which we have already announced a while back that it won't be named M. The X5 will be a 4.8L with a twin-turbo engine and it will include an upgraded suspension.
That's it for now, we'll be back soon with more exclusive news. But in the mean time, if you would like us to keep you updated on all the BMW news, please take a moment and sign up for our email feed. Get updates by email

2Interesting post on the 4 wheel steering, but could you elaborate a bit more? Is it anly for the long wheelbase, what type of system and does it work with the X-drive?
We all know that the 7 will get an updated iDrive but you have not mentioned that.
As far as the 8 speed info goes we all knew that but it is nice to have the specifics. The X5 M has been beat to death and was put to rest… that is nothing new. From the Spy fotos it looks like the 3 will get bigger openings rather than the 5 look. Chrome is not cool anymore so I hope they do not add more of it…. on the interior it reflects and blinds you when you drive… BOOO!
