Remember the BMW 1-Series tii? How could you forget it? It was one the best things that BMW has shown us. It is a direct throwback to the old 2002 tii. Well today it is being reported by about every major automotive publication that BMW has okayed the tii performance enhancements to both the new 1-Series and the 3-Series as well.
CAR over in Europe interviewed BMW boss Norbert Reithofer, and got him to admit that the tii’s were coming.
It has not been told whether a tii model would start out as BMW performance parts upgrades, or be actual limited production models, but either way, the cars will be coming here and we should all be happy. With the growing variations of models that you can get from every car company, at least BMW is going old school and back to its grass roots.
Expect this all to be the forthcoming of BMW’s new way to bring about more affordable, weight saving performance cars to adhere to the new CAFE standards.
