for the record, i had my 997 S chipped and everything is stock… i just beat an M6 the other day… also came close to a Ferrari 430, but he nosed me out. for the record. but porsche is all about feel, road feel.

@John: I agree, I also don't think that the M3 is in the same class as the other 2 cars, but it was still interesting to see them going at each other.

to put a M3 with a porsche is out of place. anyone that has driven a 911 or 911S knows the road feel is completely different than a SEDAN which BMW makes, and calls the ultimate driving machine. ultimate? well, if you want to compare to a camry or other sedan. but it’s a sedan. four doors or two doors, box car. Zero road feel. the porsche is a race car. they don’t falsely brag about ultimate driving machine. they just claim, “there is no substitute” and they are correct. i’ve driven the best BMW’s and there is no road feel. you may as well be on a couch or arm chair.

The reason they compare the GTR to the M3 is price – the GTR and M3 (with a couple of options) cost the same price, though the GTR will blow the doors of the M3.
