A BMW press release has revealed that the UK magazine AutoCar has ranked BMW highest in CO2 reduction. BMW reduced their carbon emissions in the UK by over 55 million pounds during 2007, earning it the top spot among carbon reducing auto manufacturers.
Not to be wholly outshined, little brother MINI cut its output by 52 million pounds, earning a close second place. All told, the combined savings of BMW and MINI accounted for almost half of the total carbon output reductions of the auto industry in Britain for the year.
The dramatic reductions are owed to average carbon reductions of 6.6% for BMW, and a whopping 16% for MINI. More info can be found in the Official Press Release.
