Lotus Esprit gets a BMW engine

Our friends at Autoblog are reporting that the 2011 Lotus Esprit will be powered by a BMW engine. In this case, the rumors say that the engine in discussion is the one found under the hood of the brand new BMW X6: the twin-turbo 4.4L V8 engine.T

BMW's engine outputs 400 ponies but it is expected that the british auto manufacturer will boost it somewhere close to 500 horsepower.
