Staying on the 5-series topics today, our colleagues at egmcartech.com decided to play around with photoshop and see how the 2010 5-series might look in the end. It seems like these days, the next generation 5-series is a very hot topic, we received many emails asking for more details and also, especially on edBMW Blog, the article on the 2010 5-series, seems to be very popular. 

The current 5-series was launched in 2004 and in compare to the other BMW series, it has seen little changes since its debut. Let's start with the engine changes: BMW is expected to carry over the current lineup including the new 3 liter turbocharged engine. There is also a rumor going around that a 4.4 L V8 turbocharged engine will become available.

The photo renderings done by the guys at egmcartech.com are based of the 5-series latest spy photos and also, the BMW CS concept.

Our renderings reveal that the design of the next-generation BMW 5-Series has been seriously toned-down and won’t be as radical as the current generation. We’ll see major hints of the CS Concept on the front end(which is supposedly where BMW design is headed) with a large grille and more rounded headlights, while tail lamps will be stretched out to resemble those of the 3-Series.

While these photos are pretty interesting, it still uncertain how the final product will look like. I'm pretty sure that by the end of the year, there will be more un-camouflaged version rolling down the streets in Germany and we will have a better clearer idea on what to expect.

The next-generation BMW 5-Series is expected to make its debut in mid-2009 as a 2010 model year.
