Effective today, there will be a fee (ranging from EUR460 to EUR735 depending on the city) for European Delivery customers who are dropping off their cars in Italy. BMW has been providing this service for free for many years and they incurred a high cost (disproportionate to other drop-offs) by doing so.
If you already booked a drop-off in Italy or reserve it by 1. February 2008, the fee will be waived.
Your BMW dealer will have a form for you to complete. Payment will be to the driver at the time of pickup (cash only).
You should have a full tank of petrol in the car and you need to leave both license plates on and give the white folder (with registration information) to the driver.
Insurance and registration must be valid for at least three days following the day of drop-off.

Do you happen to know if discounts of $1000-$1500 for having a subscription to Roundel magazine apply even on European Deliveries?
Just curious if I can save even more money.
Your response will pe greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mircea
Yes you are eligible. You need to follow the instructions carefully. They are not necessarily intuitive.
