BMW 335i might be built in South Africa also?

Apparently, these are the rumors going around. Some of the US 335i sedan production will be shifted to South Africa beginning in February.

SA Model Code = 0880, Germany = 0842.

One of the reasons could be the 1-Series Coupe and Convertible being produced at Leipzig plant which will definitely have an impact on the other models.

I’d worry. Why would you want anything from that cesspool known as africa. And to be charged a BMW price for it? I lost 10,000 wholesaleing an SA 3 series back to a dealer just to get rid of it, after I found out it was an SA. I’ll never buy another BMW as long as I live.

I agree I just purchased a 335is and am going on the BMW Welt tour and can’t wait to go to Germany to see my GERMAN car being built in GERMAN by GERMANS! That is the whole point of buying a German car! Conceived, Designed, Engineered, and Built in Germany. I have read there are BMW plants in the US, South Africa, and India…are you serious…India…Oh please I want my German car build in India. I could rant about this for hours…….India…lmao…German cars being built in India….OK BMW the joke is over haha.

are you guys serious? You sound like a bunch of morons that know absolutely nothing about BMW. BMW has produced cars in South Africa since 1968, including the M1.
