Judging from the pictures below, it seems like BMW's 7-series is getting more "bloated" with every new design. Over the years, the current 7-series went from ugly duckingling to pioneer, with many industry leaders eventually copying the infamous bangle-butt.
Many industry reports have already signaled the front end design of the new 7-series will follow the BMW CS design presented in Shanghai, but now we get an idea of what the rest of the car will look like.
The pillars are relatively thinner and more sloped, the C-pillar appears to flow into the trunk deck more freely, which is itself more integrated into the body by being a bit longer.

Isn’t every model getting more bloated? I didn’t think this was a problem isolated to the 7 series.
