Today and yesterday were some interesting days, in regards to the amount of information that were released by BMW. In our previous articles, we announced that the BMW 1-series will make its debut at the L.A Auto Show and also, many useful information on the BMW 135i and 128i coupes were revealed.
In the same time, BMW has announced that the BMW 1-series convertible will be shown at the Detroit Auto Show, in January 2008.
On top of these great news, BMW has given us some new info:
Market Launch: March 22, 2008 (same time as the coupe).
135i Convertible SOP 03/08 (start of production). 135i Convertible should arrive at Centers around May.
Compared to the E93 / 3-Series Convertible:
– 1.1" Higher
– 8.4 Shorter
– 1.4" narrower
– 300 lbs. lighter
– 0-60 TBD (expected to be fairly close to the coupe)
Tops:
– Moonlight Black (Silver Shine to it)
– Black
– Taupe
Seat Belt affixed to the cowl of the vehicle, not the seat.
It looks like the BMW 135i convertible will be available for sale earlier than expected, with the first models arriving at the U.S dealerships in May 2008, which means that the pricing will probably going to be available sometimes in January.
