Here is an email that I received about the snow tire issue when a customer picks up their car in Europe.
If you are in receipt of this email, you have a customer picking up their car in the winter season. Attached is a release form that must be sent to your European Delivery customers prior to travel as it relates to a new German law that could be an issue if there are winter conditions and your customers BMW is equipped with a Performance Package or a Sport Package. Many BMW’s are equipped with All Season tires so this law would not impact them but nonetheless it is important that all customers are aware of it. This also applies to requirements in the customers country of travel and it is their responsibility to be aware of the restrictions of the countries they choose to travel.
Your customer will be required to sign this release at Freimann when they take delivery of their car. The delivery center will be able to outline different options for your customers including purchasing or renting snow tires and/or snow chains rental. Please make sure your customers are given a copy of this form prior to traveling to Europe so there are no surprises when they get there.

Do you have any recommendations for renting winter tires in or near Munich? I will pick up my car with performance tires in November and stay in the Alps for one month, so I should really get winter tires.
